INGREDIENTS:
( Serves - 4 to 5 )
- All-purpose Flour (Maida) – 1+3/4 cups
- Banana - 2 medium ripe
- Baking Soda – 1 tsp
- Yogurt – 1/4 cup
- Sugar – 1.5 cup
- Vanilla -1 tsp
- Walnuts – 1/2 cup, chopped
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
- Apple - 1 large
PROCEDURE:
Egg Alternative : Apple Sauce
Apple Sauce:
- Peel apple
- Put it on stove with medium heat
- Add little by little water and keep stirring
- Takes about 5 mins to be done
- Preheat Oven to 325 degrees F.
- Mix all dry ingredients: All-purpose Flour, Baking Soda.
- In another large mixing bowl, add Yogurt, Sugar, Banana and Vanilla. Mix until sugar dissolves.
- Add apple sauce and mix.
- Add Flour to the wet ingredients and mix until a smooth batter is formed.
- Add Walnuts, Oil and Butter. Mix well.
- Lightly butter the bottoms and sides of cake pans and dust with flour.
- Bake for about 1.5 hrs at 325F.
- Insert a toothpick to check if the inside of the cake is baked.
- Sprinkle a few chopped walnut pieces over the top to garnish.
- Remove from Oven and allow the cakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
