- Javvarisi (Sabudana) - 1.5 cups
- Potato - 1 large (peeled and grated)
- Onion - 1 medium sized
- Green chillie - 5 small (finely chopped)
- Jeera - 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Lemon juice - 2 tsp
- Salt (to taste)
- Corriander leaves (finely chopped)
- Oil (to fry)
- Besan flour/Rice flour for binding
PROCEDURE:
- Soak sabudana in water for about 5 to 6 hours
- Drain the sabudana and mix with potato, onion, chillie, jeera, chilli powder, salt, lemon juice and corriander leaves
- Smash the contents well and the potato will start leaving water (no need to add extra water to bind this mixture)
- Add little by little flour to bind the mixture as required
- Finally we will get a thick consistency batter.
- Heat the oil in a pan in medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, make small balls of the batter in hand and flatten it and fry it in the oil
- Make sure not to overcrowd vadas in the oil
- Fry it on both sides until they turn golden brown
- Serve hot with tomato or corriander minty chutney
